Description
CABERNET SAUVIGNON
This wine is made with grapes from Apalta and Marchigüe vineyards in the Colchagua Valley. It represents the outstanding value that Chile can offer for everyday drinking. Winemaker/Owner Aurelio Montes was named “Winemaker of the Year” by Wine Spectator in 2002 and 2006. Some reviewers describe the wine as having aromas and flavors of ripe blackberries, red cherries, and cassis with hints of cedarwood, tobacco leaf, mocha, sweet tobacco, iron, blackberry, black olive, and dried strawberry; with notes of tobacco, leather, dark chocolate, nutmeg, and black pepper.
MERLOT
The Montes Classic Series Merlot is sourced predominantly from the Colchagua Valley sub-region. Marchigüe’s extreme vineyards contribute to the wine’s deeper color, tension, and body. The grapes are handpicked and 45% of the wine is aged for eight months in French oak barrels. The wine is a ruby-red color. Some reviewers describe the wine as having aromas of fresh black fruits, toast, chocolate, and white pepper, with a smooth palate, soft tannins, medium volume, and rich acidity, along with notes of red berries, black plum, sweet spice, vanilla, mocha, and nuts.
MALBEC
Montes Classic Series Malbec is a bold and structured red wine from Colchagua Valley, Chile. This wine is made with 100% Malbec grapes and 40% of it is aged for six months in French oak barrels. It originates from the Apalta and El Arcángel del Marchigüe vineyards. It is described as having a deep red color with a violet hue, aromas of cranberry, blackberry, and black plum mingled with nutmeg, toast, and dulce de leche, and a balanced and broad palate with smooth tannins and a medium body.
